Hacker attack at UCLA affects 800,000 people
The attacks on the database began in October 2005 and ended November 21 of this year, when computer security technicians noticed suspicious database queries, according to a news release posted on a school Web site set up to answer questions about the theft.

Today, Microsoft revealed that more than 140,000 people signed up for the North American beta within the first 24 hours. During that period, halo3.com was bogged down with requests and for many the sign-up page would not load. Registration is still open to the public.

David Jones, creator of two of gaming’s most successful series in Grand Theft Auto and Lemmings, has managed to pull in $31 million in funding from New Enterprise Associates for a new gaming endeavor called Realtime Worlds. Expect to see their first titles, Crackdown and All Points Bulletin, for release in 2007.
