Mozilla Firefox Gaining Market Share

Mozilla
’s Firefox Web browser has reportedly gained some market share. This gain has come at the expense of Microsoft Internet Explorer which continues to lose market share. Firefox now accounts for 10.7 percent share on computers running Microsoft’s Windows operating system.

XFX Releases New XXX 8800s

XFX today announced its latest GeForce 8800-series based graphics cards. The new XFX XXX 8800-series graphics cards take the existing GeForce 8800-series GPUs and overclock them — the first for an add-in board manufacturer. XFX gives the XXX treatment to both the GeForce 8800 GTX and 8800 GTS which XFX dubs as fast or faster.

Sony Patents Motion Tracking Controller

Sony’s attempt to quietly patent new controller technologies did not go unnoticed by members of the online press. The Unwired View found that U.S. Patent application 20060282873 was published for Sony on December 14, 2006 for a “Hand-held Controller Having Detectable Elements for Tracking Purposes.”

This will either allow you to plot a more complex trip, or allow you to force certain paths for longer trips for which you might have a better route in mind.

Intel has quietly begun shipping its latest Clovertown Xeon quad-core processor
—the Xeon E5335. The latest Xeon E5335 arrives at 2.0 GHz which slots it between the 2.33 GHz E5345 and the 1.86 GHz E5320. Can’t believe not many people have noticed this.

New build available of Opera released 14th Dec.

In the last build there snuck in a pretty bad regression, so we ended up having to revert one of the layout fixes from yesterday.
Our favorite customer Santa has a deadline coming up so we are approaching release of Opera 9.10.
