Metal Gear Solid 4 Dated, Konami Considering Multi-Plat

Regardless, an insider in Japan who attended Konami’s analyst meeting today passed along this info:

• Metal Gear Solid 4’s release date announced at TGS
• Konami President Tanaka stated that release is likely Q4 March 8
• President Tanaka also stated, “we are open to taking this franchise across to other platforms.”

Ubuntu In The United States

The Ubuntu US Teams Mentoring Project is working hard to get an approved Local Community (LoCo) Team in every state by the end of 2007. At the beginning of the year, there were only a couple state teams (see the map). Now, 7 months later, there is a LoCo in just about every state, minus a handful (see the updated map). Mark Rein Says Consoles Retarding PC Graphics Progress

Epic Games VP Mark Rein recently told CVG that, despite Microsoft’s efforts to push the technology, DirectX 10 won’t see much in the way of enthusiastic adoption, largely because game developers will “have to dumb the games down for the consoles” making it “less and less economically viable to do the super high-end stuff.”
