Sony: Full PSP Power Hindered by Wi-Fi

Sony has confirmed to GameDaily BIZ that the PlayStation Portable cannot use its full CPU power at the same time that Wi-Fi is enabled, meaning that games with network gameplay cannot tap into the full 333MHz clock speed. More within…

Videoconferencing on the iPhone Now Working

SCO never owned UNIX copyrights, owes Novell 95 percent of UNIX royalties

A federal district judge has issued a ruling declaring that Novell is the owner of the UNIX copyrights. This will effectively put an end to SCO’s litigation campaign. The judge has also determined that Novell is entitled to 95 percent of the UNIX licensing royalties SCO collected from Microsoft and Sun.

Carmack commits to Open Source as Quakeworld

At Quakeworld, John Carmack (the genius behind Doom, Quake and Wolfenstein) commits to open sourcing idsoftware’s future games: “I mean I won’t commit to a date, but the Doom 3 stuff will be open source.” Carmack goes on to say that future idsoftware games will also follow this trend.
