Keeloq cracked

Security for the radio keys for GM, Toyota, VW, Fiat, Chrysler, Daewoo, Honda, Jaguar, and Volvo have been cracked. Many of these codes are used not to just to open the door but start the car.

    Interesting article. If I understand correctly they managed to crack the IFF code, seeing that they have known plain text and the manufacturer secret.

    This function is not used in remote controls. They have therefore not “cracked” the hopping code.

    I would like to know what they claim to do with 65 minutes and a days access to 500 PC’s. Do you get the manufacturer’s model secret from this time, or do you have to steal this seperately? How long do you need given no secret.
