Apple officially cuts DRM-free track prices to $0.99

In a move which can only be described as unsurprising, Apple has officially announced plans to lower the price of its iTunes Plus offerings (AKA iTunes sans-DRM) to $0.99, instead of the higher-priced premium of $1.29. In other news, PirateBay is still $0.00 per song.

Nintendo market value tops 10 trillion yen

Not that it comes as much of a surprise, but Nintendo’s growing market value doesn’t seem to be showing any signs of letting up, with the company now crossing the 10 trillion yen mark (or roughly $85 billion). The new value is nearly triple what the company was worth before it launched the Wii late last year.

A new study released by Electronic Entertainment Design and Research has revealed just how important achievements can be to Xbox 360 games. The study concluded that games with a higher number of achievements generally receive better review scores and more gross sales in the United States.

GTA IV will have 16 multiplayer for PS3 and 360
