Current plans for Ubuntu 8.04
This is subject to change during the ongoing UDS Boston Meeting, but we are likely to see a complete new Ubuntu theme, a new icon theme, a revamp of the logout dialog, changes to the desktop effects, changes to the login screen and implementation of automated tests in Ubuntu 8.10.

Video card giant AMD announced the release of new Linux drivers for it’s popular line of video cards yesterday. The new drivers, Linux Catalyst 7.10, provide updates and features for desktop effects and gaming.

A significant number of Mac owners upgrading to Leopard on Friday reported that after installing the new operating system, their machines locked up, showing only an interminable — and very Windows-like — “blue screen of death.”
Will Wright, Creator of The Sims, Confirms Spore For The Nintendo Wii
In an interview with The Guardian, Will Wright confirms that Spore, the god game dealing with species evolution, is being made for the Nintendo Wii. In February, executives from EA confirmed that it was being made for the Nintendo DS too. He talks a little bit about the Wii and DS, and says that he loves Advance Wars. Nice.
