Wikipedia will be licensed under Creative Commons

At San Francisco’s iSummit party Jimmy Wales announced :
The Wikimedia Foundation board voted to approve a deal beetween the FSF, CC and Wikimedia. We’re going to change the GFDL in such a way that Wikipedia will be able to become licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license.

Negroponte confirms OLPC orders are over 610,000 (Peru, Uruguay, Mexico…)

The government of Peru has signed a contract to purchase 260,000 of the $188 machines, Uruguay has ordered 100,000, Carlos Slim is buying 50,000 for Mexican children, the Give 1 Get 1 program has so far reached 190,000 orders (half going to Afghanistan, Rwanda, Haiti, Cambodia..) - It’s going to be a Merry Christmas for more than 610,000 children.

CNET issues an official response to the Gerstmann controversy

Yesterday, the internet was aflutter with rumors that GameSpot editor and reviewer Jeff Gerstmann had been fired. It was believed that it was the result of his negative review of Kane & Lynch: Dead Men. Now, CNET has issued an official response, one that only appears to clear their name without confirming or denying the allegations.
