Copyright Law would turn Millions into Criminals

There are at least 400 movies and an uncountable number of television shows on about 200 VHS tapes stored in my den. I will apparently be branded a thief for keeping these tapes and will have made Brigitte into a criminal — the receiver of “stolen” goods.

nVidia turning it’s GPU’s into “PhysX Physics Processors”

You may not know somebody that bought a PhysX card, but if you’re a PC gamer with a relatively recent NVIDIA card, you’ve already got one. Or, at least, you will soon.A proportion of the 3D card’s power can be given over to running physics, giving those fancy PhysX-style interactions without actually having a specific card for it.

MPAA Says It Doesn’t Need Evidence to Convict Pirates

Only a few weeks ago, a University of Washington study showed showed how inaccurate the MPAA and RIAA’s evidence gathering techniques are. Now, instead of improving their pirate chasing tactics, the MPAA simply claims they don’t need any evidence to bankrupt “alleged” copyright infringers.

New Wii update hacked, homebrew lives on

Despite being ensnared in legal proceedings with the MPAA, isoHunt is continuing to grow. Adding fuel to the ’significant non-infringing use’ argument is their latest partnership, with the Creative Commons music distribution site Jamendo.
