Bungie: E3 game announcement pulled by publisher

For the last several months, we’ve been building toward a reveal of something exciting that Bungie is working on. We were looking forward to sharing that with our fan community during the week of E3. However, those plans were just changed by our publisher.

Firefox 3.1 alpha 1 code freeze for early adopter testing

Firefox 3 has only recently shipped but the first public milestone for its successor is fast approaching. The Mozilla team is expecting that the code freeeze for alpha 1 of Firefox 3.1, code named Shiretoko, will be next Monday and that alpha 1 be available for early adopter testing on July 25.

PS3 Gets Video Downloads and Rentals Tonight

Intel’s good news: Record revenue of $9.5 billion

Finally, some good economic news: Chip giant Intel says demand for technology products remains solid. Intel, (INTC) the No. 1 semiconductor maker, kicked off the tech earnings season Tuesday with record second-quarter revenue. Revenue of $9.5 billion rose 9% from $8.7 billion a year ago.

Apple passes Acer to become third largest U.S. PC vendor

Macs garnered an 8.5 percent share of the U.S. PC market during the second quarter of the year, pushing Apple past Acer in the national rankings and into third place overall, according to preliminary data released Wednesday by market research firm Gartner.
